KitsFest

West Coast Masters Water Polo, and BC Water Polo are excited to announce that for the first time Water Polo will be included in the very popular KitsFest. The tournament will be an open water event and will take place in the Pacific Ocean just in front of the iconic Kits Pool.  KitsFest is a community organized multi-sport event in the Kitsilano neighbourhood of Vancouver, BC 
What:
  • OPEN WATER Water Polo Invitational Tournament
  • Newest FINA Rules (5v5, Smaller Field of Play, Smaller Ball)
  • 30 Minute Run Time (2x15 Minute Halves)
  • Field of Play: Approximately 25m x 20m with standard nets
When: Saturday August 8th & Sunday August 9th, 2015

*Event will be timed with the tides and games will be tightly scheduled. Your team must be prepared to start 30 minutes before their scheduled start time*

Who: Masters Open Water Polo Tournament (Age 18+). We may be limiting the event to 10 teams.

Why: To start the tradition of an international Water Polo tournament in one of the most spectacular open ocean settings in the world.
Where: Kits Beach, Kitsilano, Vancouver, BC. The tournament will be an Open Water event and will take place in the Pacific Ocean just in FRONT of the iconic Kits Pool.
Where to Stay: Kitsilano Beach is very close to hotels located in downtown Vancouver.

SundayFunday: Throughout Sunday we will be hosting a social event at the Kitsilano Sailing Club, directly beside the field of play. 

Parking: Parking will be limited near the Kitsilano Beach due to the popularity of KitsFest, but there is a large pay-parking lot near the tennis courts (5 min walk to Water Polo Staging Area) and street parking available near the pool.

Where to Eat: Kitsilano has many great restaurants. Just steps away from the the field of play are several restaurants and bars.
